Completely Removing Camera Controller

The normal un-installation procedure will remove most of Camera Controller but will leave windows registry information intact.  Also, it may not remove all of the shared files Camera Controller uses.  This removal technique facilitates re-installation and doesn't break any other software that may be using the shared DLL's.

Occasionally you may want to completely remove all traces of Camera Controller from your system.  To do this, follow this procedure:

  1. If running, stop Camera Controller.
  2. In the Windows control panel, click the "Add/Remove Programs" applet.
  3. Locate "Pine Tree Computing Camera Controller" in the list and click on it.
  4. Click on the "Remove" button that appears to the lower right of the "Pine Tree Computing Camera Controller" title.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the stock removal procedure.
  6. Locate and delete the folder "C:\Program Files\PTC Camera Controller".  Note: It may have already been deleted by the stock removal procedure.
  7. Locate and delete the folder "C:\Program Files\PTCUtils".  Note: It may have already been deleted by the stock removal procedure.
  8. Locate your "C:\Program Files\Olympus" folder.  Camera Controller may install several redistributable files from the Olympus SDK in this folder.  You may want to save a copy of these files before deleting them. Note: They may have already been deleted by the stock removal procedure.  The files are;
    • jam.ocx
    • olcamapi.dll
    • rye.ocx
    • ryenv.dll
    • wheat.ocx
  9. Run regedit.  Warning: Improper use of regedit can be devastating to your Windows system.  Use regedit carefully and at your own risk.
  10. Locate and delete the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Pine Tree Computing\Camera Controller and all it's subvalues and subkeys.

Camera Controller is now completely removed.
